We are happy to see that the 2021 Quilter’s Planners are starting to arrive in mailboxes!
With its arrival, many of us are making quilting plans for next year. While everyone is looking ahead, The Quilter’s Planner team thought that now was a great time to share with you our plans for the 2021 sew-along program.
Instead of one large sampler, we decided to focus on ALL the projects in the planner, as well as a bonus pattern from our own Sarah Ashford!
Sarah’s Great British Friendship Quilt was designed to celebrate the release of her Great British Quilter Back to Basics fabric collection for Dashwood Studio. This collection is inspired by all things British, as well as social media and quilting references hidden too! It’s a lovely beginner level pattern that gives us all the warm fuzzy feelings of love and friendship. You can download the pattern here:
If you are in the UK, you have the opportunity to reserve a Great British Friendship Quilt kit from our friends at Olive + Flo Handcraft.
For those located in the United States, you can purchase the Back to Basics fabric collection or a Great British Friendship Quilt kit from Morris Textiles.
Here is the schedule for this year’s sew-along:
January: Pick fabrics for Great British Friendship Quilt and Aztec Mini Wall Quilt
February: Great British Friendship Quilt rows 1 and 7 (Pinwheels)
March: Taffy Candy
April: Great British Friendship Quilt rows 2 and 6 (Friendship Stars)
May: Perception Floor Pillow
June: Great British Friendship Quilt rows 3 and 5 (Flying Geese)

September: Sky Dust
October: Great British Friendship Quilt. Sew together rows and baste.
November: Quilting your Great British Friendship Quilt.
December: Bind and gift your Great British Friendship Quilt!
To make the experience more interactive, each month instead of a blog post with tips and tricks, we will be posting about the month’s sewing ‘assignment’ in our Facebook group. There we will share our best advice, links to helpful information and, as always, lots of encouragement. And if you’re struggling with that month’s sewing, our sew-along coordinator Lorinda Davis will be there to answer your questions! Lorinda is a private sewing instructor and has been overseeing our Tips and Tricks posts for the last two years.
So if you aren’t already a member of the Quilter’s Planner Facebook group, make sure to join now so you’re there for all the fun!
We look forward to sewing with you in 2021!
