In my personal quest to become a more organized person, I have warmed to the idea of taking a few minutes on Saturday or Sunday to plan meals for the whole week.

As a busy mom, a business owner, and a quilter, the truth is that I have to stay organized with meals or else my family of seven gets, well…let’s just say they all suffer from Hungry Human Syndrome, and they get quite cranky if dinner is late due to a lack of a plan.  And I have to admit, I hate having to do more than one large trip to the grocery store each week.  So planning is the lesser of two evils for me.

I figure that if I’m going to bother selecting meal plans for the week, and pinning the recipes to my Quilter’s Planner Pinterest Board, I might as well share them with you!  What good is a blogger who doesn’t share?

My Quick and Easy Meal Planning Method

First, let me tell you how I accomplish my meal planning for the week in about 20 minutes each Saturday.

  • Firstly, I zoom through my pinterest board, selecting and pinning meals my family might like (there’s no way I can please everyone in my family… so I usually try to pick things the majority will consider trying).
  • Then I jot down meal selections on the Weekly Calendar top bulleted points (see photo above).
  • Finally, I take out my cute little QP Mini planner (available now with purchase of the original Quilter’s Planner), and I make a note in the shopping list section of ingredients I’ll need to pick up from the grocery store.
