Referring to the “Flying Geese: Four at a Time (No Waste)” instructions in the Reference section of your Quilter’s Planner, make (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ Flying Geese using the 4 1/4″ square and (4) 2 3/8″ squares.

Using a 1/4″ seam allowance, sew (2) 2″ squares on either side of a flying geese unit. Press away from the flying geese unit. Row A should measure 2″ x 6 1/2″. Repeat to make (2).

Using a 1/4″ seam allowance, sew (2) flying geese units on either side of a 3 1/2″ square. Press away from the flying geese units. Row B should measure 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″.

Nesting seams, sew Rows A and Row B together with a 1/4″ seam. Press seams open.

The finished Sawtooth Star Block should measure 6 1/2″ square.
