The decorations are up, the presents are under the tree, the lights are twinkling and the Christmas songs are playing. All that remains is to make the final preparations in readiness for some festive fun with family and friends. It’s a time for giving and thinking of others, but we mustn’t forget to think about ourselves! With so much going on over the festive season, it’s easy to forget about our own needs, and overwhelm can creep in. So we’ve put together a guide to help use your planner to keep you healthy and happy this holiday.
1) Drink more water
When it’s cold and dark it’s easy to reach for the hot drinks, or perhaps something stronger. This is the season for indulgence after all! But your body will thank you for keeping hydrated. Keep a glass with you at all times and fill it up often. Use the clip-in habit tracker in your planner to keep track of your water intake. By setting a daily target and checking it off each time you drink a glass, it will keep you accountable, and help you remember to drink.
2) Schedule exercise
Keeping to an exercise regime can be hard during the holiday season. Take a look at your weekly planner pages and block out time for when you can get to the gym, go for a walk/run or do some sports practice. If the weather is not on your side and you don’t want to go out, consider an online class such as yoga or Pilates. You only need an hour or less and your body will thank you for moving and stretching!
3) Plan ahead
Being organized and prepared can take out a lot of the stress of the festive season. Use the clip-in shopping list and meal planners to help you, and if you’re planning a party, we have FREE party planning sheets PDF downloads available on the website to help you organize every aspect of your party.
4) Factor in some down time
Christmas and festive celebrations are a wonderful time, but let’s be honest, it can be busy, sometimes stressful and a little overwhelming. It’s important to look after yourself as well as everyone else. So make sure you factor in some down time, doing something you want to do. Maybe just have a cup of tea and enjoy looking through the 2022 Planner at all the projects and patterns and make a note of which ones you fancy making in 2022.
5) Meet with friends
Meeting up with friends is a wonderful way to have some fun and keep you grounded. Why not plan something festive together such as ice skating, seeing a Christmas movie or having a lunch or dinner Coordinate your schedules and write it down well in advance, so that you have a lovely get-together to look forward to.
We hope these tips help you stay happy, healthy, organized, and most importantly have some fun this Christmas time!
