This is one of my favorite times of year. As the air cools, our minds turn to all the fun and excitement that the next few months will bring. Summer hikes make way for fall sewing, and we begin to plan out all the lovely things we’re going to make this season.
Earlier this week, Sarah shared some of her favorite new fabrics for fall; today I will share some of my favorite patterns to make this season. Any of them (or all!) would make an great addition to your Autumn ‘to-sew’ list.
You Gotta Be Kitten Me by Sarah Schneider of Sarah’s Softies
This pattern is perfect for October! This adorable black kitty is causing all sorts of mischief in the sewing room, and I can’t help but love him for it. Change out the color scheme, and this quilt can work for any time of the year.
Visit Sarah’s Softies to purchase the pattern. Limited sewing time? Sarah has also made this design available as a panel (in multiple color schemes!) for purchase at Honest Fabric.

Woodland Felt Patterns by Shannon Gillman Orr of Eva Blake’s Makery
Arboreal by Jennifer Worthen at Slightly Biased Quilts
The clean lines and negative space of the Arboreal pattern make for an ideal modern quilt. It is both beginner-friendly and a scrap-busting project, which is a double win in my book! Try it in this fabulously fall color scheme, or stick to greens and blues for a winter project.
Tea Leaves by Cheryl Brickey of Meadowmist Designs
Quick Stitch Needle Case by Sarah Ashford of Sarah Ashford Studios
