One of our favourite pages in the planner is the vision board page. In this blog post we help you get started with your vision board and give you ideas for making it personal to you so that you can refer back to it time and again, and feel inspired!

As we start to look ahead to the new year, it’s time to think about what we’d like to achieve and the goals we’d like to set. One way of having a bit of fun with this while helping us focus in on our goals is to create a vision board.

What is a Vision Board?

A vision board is made up of images, quotes, drawings or anything that helps you visualise what you’d like to achieve. From going on vacation, owning a new car, a new house or maybe even a new sewing machine, you can put whatever you like on your board. This is the time to think big – it’s your board and your dreams, there are no limits! It might just hone in on one idea, or it might be the bigger picture of what you want next year and what you want your future to look like. A blank page can feel a bit intimidating, so we’re here to help you get started!

Images

Take out some magazines and flick through them. Include images that appeal to you, and that fill you with positivity. You can also print them from the internet, to represent the things you would like to have and to happen.

Words

There might be certain words or phrases that resonate with you to help keep you focused. Examples include ‘grow’ ‘believe’ ‘attract’ ‘strength’ ‘live the dream’ ‘travel’ ‘inspire.’ Include words that mean something to you. You could cut out words and letters or print off phrases, playing around with fonts that appeal to you.

Quotes

Quotes can be really powerful. If you want to, choose quotes that resonate with you and print them off and put them on your board. You can also find inspiring quotes on our habit tracker pages. Why not choose one that speaks to you and add it to your board?!

Time to Get Creative

Now it’s time to get the glue stick and colouring pens out! How you present your vision board is entirely up to you. You may just want to fill your page with images. Or you might want words to be the focus, with just a few smaller images. You may want to put an image of you at the centre and put all your wishes and desires around the edge. A vision board is a personal thing and it’s up to you how how want to present it, but we suggest you make it visual, attractive and glossy. The most important thing is that it means something to you.

Look At It Often

To help keep you focused, refer back to your vision board often.  Why not pin it up on the wall in your home or office, somewhere that you will see it easily, so that you can look at it and feel inspired every day.
